Son Tay Planning

Son Tay is a rural district at the outskirt of Hanoi metropolitan area that is rapidly transformed by fragmented urbanization. The mission is to re-structure Son Tay master plan at 1:10,000 scale based on an existing regional planning.

The new Son Tay urban area is structured to be more compact, more authentic, more connected and better defined by its cultural and natural heritage. Traditional and new building types such as rowhouses, villas, high-rise condos, high-tech farms, agricultural R&D labs, and iconic cultural centers are centered around main routes and mass transit hubs connecting to downtown Hanoi. Heritage sites such as Son Tay Citadel are made important parts of the urban fabric. Waterways, lakes, mountains and agricultural fields are to be preserved as natural treasures and eco-tourism resources.

The goal is to create a sustainable city of the 21st Century.
